Since being established in 2010, DietNotes101 has assisted many individuals in accomplishing their wellness goals. We have been able to do this by providing a different perspective. Einstein once stated that "we cannot solve our problems with the same mind that created them." At DietNotes101, we tap into both the right & left brain for answers. We have an extensive knowledge of nutrition and a deep gratitude for divine guidance.

The founder of DietNotes101 is Cathy Silva, MS, M.Ed., RDN. She has always loved learning about food & nutrition. In high school, she wanted to sign up for all the wonderful cooking classes that were offered, but there was no room in her schedule after her mother insisted she sign up for all the science classes. Her mother let her develop her cooking talent at home. Today, she is grateful that she was guided to take this path. She now understands the science behind how to boost ones’ metabolism, nutrients needed for the body's detox pathways to work properly, ways to decrease inflammation in the body, and how to prepare meals that are healthy & taste great.

Her passion for learning and teaching led her to earn a Masters in Nutrition from Boston University, and a Master’s in Education from Boston College. Cathy is a Registered Dietitian & Licensed Nutritionist. She is a member of the Integrative and Functional Medicine Dietetic Practice Group with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and loves learning about the relationship between food and health.

She has studied and practiced many healing modalities and incorporates them into her classes and consults. Her favorites are Chi Gong and Tong Ren. Cathy believes all healing comes from God. In her healing sessions, she asks God, Jesus, Mother Mary, & the Archangels for assistance. Individuals who have experienced her healing sessions have lost weight, eliminated food cravings, and find it easier to accomplish their wellness goals.

Her work experience includes 20+ years of work experience as a nutritionist in the academic, community, clinical and private practice settings. She has worked as a dietitian in a dialysis clinic, the Army Institute of Environmental Medicine. the WIC program, and at the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at MGH. In addition, she has developed healthy menus for residential homes and coached many individuals in the mental health system. She presented her coaching success stats in a poster session at a state-wide mental health quality assurance conference. She has taught nutrition and chemistry at the high school & the college level, and served as the Chair of a Nutrition program for a small college in the Boston area. In private practice, she provides nutritional wellness counseling for individuals with food sensitivities, hypertension, cardiac disease, diabetes and many other nutrition & wellness related concerns.
